The mission statement for the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce is to identify, encourage, and sponsor activities which promote prosperity for the business community of Holly Springs.
Based on our mission statement, the Board of Directors of Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce unanimously concludes a residential moratorium is not in the best interest of our business members and the business community in Holly Springs.
We oppose a residential moratorium based on the following reasons:
![]() |
Developer dollars are critical to the Town for funding road improvements and would be severely reduced due to the lack of development within the town. |
![]() |
Traffic will continue to rise as developers will build in Apex, Fuquay Varina and Harnett County and those new residents will travel through Holly Springs. |
![]() |
Many of our current businesses located to Holly Springs based on future growth projections and may close or relocate if residential growth stops. |
![]() |
The quality of commercial development being sought by many of our residents and business owners will require a larger population to sustain economic viability. |
![]() |
Commercial Developers and their support services providers locate to an area based on rooftop growth projections. A moratorium could mean that commercial projects are postponed indefinitely, or simply locate to a more populated area. |
![]() |
Future development within Holly Springs could be compromised. The tremendous growth we are experiencing is taking place in all of Wake County. Developers are going to build where their financial investment is the least risky. |
The town staff and elected officials have worked hard to manage the growth
policy that has yielded positive results in the quality of life for both the residents and the business community. The Holly Springs Chamber supports the Town's effort in
managing well balanced growth and business sustainability.
Adopted on this date 8-27-2009, by the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce
Board of Directors.
