The Wake County Public School System, now in its 26th year, is devoted to maintaining academic excellence for every child, offering parental choice through our magnet programs and keeping and retaining quality teachers.
Created through the merger of the former Wake County and Raleigh Public School Systems in July 1976, WCPSS serves the entire county including Apex, Cary, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Holly Springs, Knightdale, Morrisville, Raleigh, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell and Zebulon.
The school system serves more than 108,000 students from kindergarten through 12th grade in 80 elementary schools, 27 middle schools, 16 high schools, and six special/alternative schools.

As a community-based public school advocacy organization, Wake Education Partnership links human and material resources to strengthen our public schools. In addition to fostering action-oriented community involvement in the Wake County Public Schools, the Partnership seeks to leverage the investment of private contributions to ensure the greatest possible impact in every school. Specifically, Wake Education Partnership targets efforts to strengthen the achievement of our children by actively participating as an advocate, convener, coordinator and facilitator of community involvement in the public schools.
Wake Technical Community College

Wake Technical Community College offers more than 90 different programs of study, offered by six different academic divisions. Students completing these programs may earn associate degrees, diplomas or certificates.
Full-time students can usually complete an associate degree program within two years, a diploma program within one year or a certificate program within six months. Some programs may take longer.
